Ocean Eyes, performed live in the studio in our Acoustic Trio.
A love song that is both upbeat and has romantic depth is what brides often look for in a wedding song and this one is certainly an underrated gem. We don’t hear it requested too often and that is what makes it a good one to consider.
Billie Eilish’s Ocean Eyes is a reasonably untouched song by many brides. One that is well-known enough to be easily recognised but not so common that it’s the anthem of every wedding.
We prepared it for recording in the studio in our Acoustic Trio band formation. It has weight, even in an arrangement stripped back to a voice, a guitar and drums. And it has it’s depth, especially if you are a bride or groom with a blue partner.
And because it still holds an upbeat ambience to it, we tend to go to Ocean Eyes often in various canapé-style situations. We’ve used it during wedding ceremonies. We’ve used it for hotel lounge music, and in background music for corporate networking events.
This performance below was recorded at the tail end of a recording session, just before our candid take of Moon River. Have a watch and listen. If you have a song in mind that you may like to hear next from us, just drop us a hint of your idea in the comments below.
We are a collective of musicians based in Perth, Australia, that perform the most well-adored songs of the decades for weddings, corporate events and special celebrations. We believe that live music is so important in establishing the tone of an event and, if done right, sets an atmosphere that allows guests to let their guard down, enjoy, and step into another world where they can feel comfortable enough to experience all that a good event has to offer.
Our musicians are not just experienced performers but also trained formally in jazz and contemporary music, and we understand the importance of how visuals reinforce a event’s tone, which give us the versatility to perform at cocktail events, black-tie events, wedding ceremonies and receptions, conferences, and brand or product launches.
